灵鹫山通度寺位于韩国灵鹫山南部，是三宝之首的佛宝寺。因在金刚戒坛里经已供奉释迦牟尼佛的舍利，袈裟与用过的钵，因此认为在寺里的大雄殿内没有必要安置佛像。没有佛像的大雄宝殿反而使通度寺大名远播海内外。为了安置唐朝慈藏律师送来的佛舍利，公元646年新罗善德女王创建此寺，至今已有1300年历史，而其法灯至今从未灭过。
Tongdosa is one of the Three Jewels Temples in Korea and it is famous because there are no statues in the temple. Tongdosa is reputed to house several relics of the Buddha himself, including a robe, a begging bowl, and a bone from his skull which was brought back from China by Jajang in AD646, during the reign of Queen Seondeok of Silla.
