塔吉克斯坦国家文物博物馆的佛涅槃雕像 ‘Buddha in Nirvana’ in National Museum of Tajikistan.

于1966年在塔吉克斯坦南部的 Ajina-Tepe 佛寺遗址发现了12.5米长的粘土“佛涅槃”雕像。雕像的上半部分严重受损,其所有片段个别被发现。雕像的修复工作始于同一年,一直持续到1978年。之后,修复工作停止,直到2000年才再开始。今天,“佛涅槃”雕塑在塔吉克斯坦国家文物博物馆展出。这是现代中亚地区最大的佛像雕塑。


In1966,a clay statue which was 12.5 meter long of ‘Buddha in Nirvana’ was found in Ajina-Tepe runis,located in the Vakhsh valley in Southern Tajikistan. The upper part of the sculpture turned out to be badly damaged. All other fragments of the sculpture were found separately. The restoration of the statue started in the same year and lasted until 1978. After that the work stopped and didn't begin until 2000. Today the sculpture "The Buddha in Nirvana" is exhibited at the National Museum of Tajikistan. It is the biggest sculpture of the Buddha found on territory of modern Central Asia.
